Over 30 years of independence, Kazakhstanis gave birth more and live longer, indicating that quality of life has enhanced and life expectancy extended.
But at the same time, since 2010, the share of the work-age population has been decreasing, and the demographic burden on those who work is increasing: Last year this figure was 692 to 1000 people.
But what if unemployment and lower incomes will “knock down” the workers and the state even further – the state from which everyone expects help in times of difficulties?
