Population matters

Population and development component of the country programme aims at strengthening national data systems and improved availability of evidence-based analysis of population flows and its linkage to sustainable development for the formulation of human rights protecting policies. In this area, UNFPA actively employs evidence-based policy dialogue and provide technical assistance to the country and strategic information.

UNFPA supports the strengthening of national data collection and dissemination systems and improving the accessibility of evidence-based analysis on population dynamics and their links to sustainable development.

Technical and financial support has been provided to the Ministry of Health in conducting the research on reproductive health adolescents aged 15 to 19 in Kazakhstan.

Technical support has been provided to the Statistics Committee with the preparation and conducting of research “Generation and Gender”.

Detailed Population Situation Analysis has been done in the new Turkestan region, with new data now available for the region and population dynamics forecast outlined.  The new data have been presented to the regional authorities for use in planning regional social and economic programmes.

Technical support has been provided to the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy in conducting the 2019 Census.

Promoting the goals of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development adopted in Cairo as well as achieving the third and fifth Sustainable Development Goals.
