Sexual and reproductive health

We work on strengthening policy and institutional mechanisms to improve access of people to integrated high-quality reproductive and sexual healthcare services, especially for most vulnerable people. Work in this area includes developing policy and advocacy concepts promoting health and reproductive rights, and helping enhance national strategies and action plans.

New modern and efficient infection control technologies have been introduced in obstetric facilities in pilot regions of the country. The amassed experience will be applied in other regions of Kazakhstan.

National report on Confidential Maternal Mortality Audit over 2011-2017 has been prepared and recommendations provided on the ways of reducing maternal mortality in Kazakhstan.

 Training packages and Family Planning and Antenatal Care Guidelines have been prepared in line with the latest recommendations of WHO, UNFPA and UNICEF and presented to the Ministry of Health for approval.

A National Guideline, including service standards and quality control instruments for youth-friendly clinics have been prepared and presented to the Ministry of Health for further approval.

Centre of Excellence of Youth-Friendly Services has been set up in Almaty.
