The republic was represented by the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social protection Yerlan Aukenov. In his speech, the Deputy Minister emphasized that the action plan “Active Longevity” is being implemented in Kazakhstan starting this year. It is expected that the implementation of the plan will support the older persons and their families, improve their financial situation and create conditions for the leisure of retired citizens.

The Deputy Minister promised that Longevity Centres will be opened in all regions of the country by the end of the year.

“The analysis of the indicators of the active longevity index conducted in 2020 by the country office of the United Nations Population Fund in Kazakhstan determined the high level of education of older persons, their strong reliance on family contacts, their good level of physical activity, psychological well-being, involvement in the labour market”, said Deputy Minister Yerlan Aukenov.
